It happens every two weeks

“It happens every two weeks. I don’t know what to do. I’m gonna go crazy if it comes back again. I need to stop it before it’s too late! Oh Lord, help me! I can’t take it anymore! Tell me what to do! I’m shrinking inside and my mind is going blank. How can I get rid of this?” Richard tells himself.

Every two weeks, there is a mysterious bump in the rug. It’s a massive bump in the rug and it keeps coming back. It will not stop. They say that the 13 time it happens, you die instantly. Poor Richard doesn’t know how to stop it. The first time it happened, he tried stepping on it. But the bump in the rug would move before Richard’s foot hit it. He knew something was wrong but didn’t know what. That night at midnight, the bump went away. The next day, he told his friend about it. Tom freaked out! He told Richard that he will soon die unless he gets rid of it. Immediately, Richard moved apartment buildings and settled in a nice apartment with all wooden floors, except for the bedroom. But it came back again.
Richard tried everything to get rid of it! He is going crazy now. Today is the night that the bump will come back for the 13th time. Richard is staying at Tom’s house tonight. But he can’t sleep even a little. He thinks “ I’ll be fine. I’m staying at Tom’s house. Nothing is going to happen to me.” Richard turns on the couch and stares at the ground. “ Nothing is going to happen to me,” he tells himself over and over. Suddenly, Richard is asleep.
In the middle of Richard first nap in weeks, he hears a jolting noise. He stands up immediately. Frightened to death, he scans the floor. There was no bump in the rug. Another jolt sound made him turn around. It’s the bump! Richard grabbed a chair and started hitting the bump with it. He kept missing and missing but he would not stop. He looks at the clock. It reads 11:59. Richard screams with horror and determination continuing hitting the rug as hard has he could.
    Then the clock stuck twelve.
Now Richard lies on the floor, dead, waiting for Tom to find his body.

A PIECE OF WRITING

Fortunately, I finished my essay last night that was due today.

Unfortunately, my teacher said it was a terrible essay.

Fortunately, she burned giving me another day.

Unfortunately, that still may not be enough time for me to make this an exceptional essay.

Fortunately, I have a rhino as a study buddy.

Unfortunately, he poops a lot.

Fortunately, he is super smart and he can fly.
My favorite short story is "The Tell Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe.

I like this story because it is twisted, well written, and kind of funny.
